In Spring 2021, I completed a Master's of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University. My research focused on the overlap of design and mechanical engineering activities.
I hope to advance my education by pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering in order to study Design and to research Design Framing.
I am currently a Temporary Research Assistant within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan. I work with Dr. Shanna Daly, Dr. Colleen Seifert and Dr. Erika Mosyjowski, to investigate how students attend to Socially Engaged aspects of engineering design problems.
While at Michigan State University, I worked with Dr. Michele Grimm in her research laboratory. I conducted engineering education research and assisted in the creation of a flipped-classroom model undergraduate biomechanics class.
Early in my master's program, I had the opportunity to work with the Hub for Innovation in Learning and Technology at Michigan State University as they created the Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil Engineering Online Master's Degrees. I focused on the accessibility of online interfaces and engineering mathematics to ensure the program was created with inclusive design practices.
